Leader Support Worker / Officer Short Breaks (Sutton) Location: Sutton (community delivery) / Training will be in our Romford Office Contract: Full-time (part-time considered) Permanent (subject to probation) Salary: £22,000 per annum Enhanced DBS: - Children / Adults Employer: Raynet Care Raynet Care is recruiting a Leader Support Worker / Officer to help us launch and grow a high-quality, person-centred service for children, young people and/or adults (as applicable) and their families. This is a key role for someone who is confident leading frontline support, coordinating day-to-day delivery, and ensuring every short break is safe, meaningful and outcomes-focused. The role You will be based in Sutton and will: Lead by example in delivering outstanding short breaks support (home, community and local activities). Coordinate rotas and day-to-day scheduling to ensure safe staffing and continuity, also support in the community outreach. Complete and maintain high-quality records (daily notes, incident logs, risk assessments, support plans). Support onboarding, shadowing and coaching of new staff; provide guidance and on the spot leadership. Work closely with families/carers, commissioners and partner professionals to keep plans responsive. Promote safeguarding, dignity, respect and positive behaviour support at all times. Help ensure quality and compliance: audits, spot checks, supervisions (where delegated), and feedback loops. Contribute to service improvement: identify gaps, propose solutions, and support mobilisation tasks. Who we re looking for You re likely to be a great fit if you have: Experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, complex needs and/or behaviours that challenge . A calm, confident approach and the ability to make good decisions in real time. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence using care recording systems. A genuinely person-centred approach helping individuals feel safe, included and empowered. A good understanding of safeguarding and safe working practice. The ability to organise rotas / shifts and coordinate a small team (or readiness to step up into this). A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential). Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards). Experience of short breaks/respite, community support, activity planning, or positive behaviour support. The purpose of the role is to respond to calls from customers who activate their emergency alarm and to arrange for appropriate emergency services, next-of-kin or Emergency Call-out Officers to assist them. The role forms part of a team of Control Operators providing a 24-hour service to tenants of sheltered housing and dispersed housing for the elderly, as well as to private customers of the service The role is 24 hours per week based on a 4 day rolling shift pattern Day 1 - 22.30-06.30, Day 2 -17.30-22.30, Day 3 - 12.00-17.30, Day 4 - 06.30-12.00, 4 days off then start on Day 1 shift. It is office based , some shifts will be lone working. Training will be provided Must have had experience working with Tunstall PNC call taking. DBS is not required. Flexibility will be considered if unable to cover all shifts listed. JOB REQUIREMENT The role forms a vital part of the provision of supported housing services to customers who are elderly and vulnerable and require support to remain in independent living. The supported housing service comprises the Lifeline service and Wardens services working together to deliver a responsive, customer-focused service that meets individual needs of people with varying degrees of support requirements, disabilities and medical conditions Control Operators work closely with the Wardens Services team and the Emergency Call-out Officers who provide emergency support out-of-hours in the evening and at weekends and bank holidays.
