WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for Mechanical Engineers to join our busy In Support Services Engineering team. This role can based from Telford or Gateshead offices, with hybrid working over a 4.5 day working week. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the design & integration of equipment at the system and sub-system levels for a range of armoured vehicles operating in the land environment. This is a demanding role, requiring close liaison between, Mechanical Engineering Team Leaders, other Engineering teams and subsystem suppliers. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Based onsite at our Telford Manufacturing facility, the Project Quality Engineer will support all quality activities on the Challenger 3 programme and provide support to the Project Quality Manager where required. You will be responsible for ensuring quality requirements within the programme are adequately deployed and adhered to, working closely with key stakeholders. You will have a broad knowledge in quality planning and assurance systems, and will be expected to be able to adapt and apply their practices in a variety of circumstances. Working from engineering drawings and supporting specifications, general, written and electronic instructions, inspection check sheets, standard inspection directives and procedures: perform in process, final inspection, and test operations to assure quality standards for small components of all specified material types up to finished vehicle testing, quality of workmanship and functional performance. Validation and tracking of Inspection and Test Documents (PAs) Responsible for root cause analysis and corrective actions and conducting the verification of non-conformances. Liaise with key stakeholders and process owners in non-conformance resolution and corrective actions. Ensure all non-conformances are fully briefed to Project Quality and Supplier Quality Engineers. Maintain personal capability in the use of MS Office suite of tools and business management tools such as SAP & Teamcenter. Take responsibility for your own routine Quality activities without supervision. Take responsibility for non-routine Quality activities with minimal supervision.
