Client Snapshot : I m currently recruiting on behalf of a well-recognised organisation specialising in supporting young people aged who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Their mission is to ensure that homelessness is not part of growing up, and they continue to expand their high-quality housing and support services across the West Midlands. Having recently developed their services within Birmingham, they re now seeking an IAG Advisor to deliver housing advice, support and guidance to young people through the Birmingham Youth Hub. Vacancy Brief : Role: IAG Advisor Homeless Prevention worker Contract: Fixed Term until March 2026 (potential for an extension) Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am 5pm (no weekends or bank holidays) Location: Birmingham Pay Rate: £13.35 PAYE or £17.20 Umbrella per hour Permanent Equivalent Salary: £26,229 £27,982 per annum Driver: Full UK Driver s License and preferable access to a vehicle. DBS: Enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult Workforce required Duties & Responsibilities : As an IAG Advisor, you will: Provide triage and assessments for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, identifying support and housing needs. Deliver high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG) on housing options, rights, and homelessness prevention. Develop and maintain Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Manage a caseload of young people through prevention and/or relief pathways, ensuring effective case management and statutory decision-making. Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, and partner agencies to coordinate support and secure suitable housing outcomes. Conduct home visits and mediation sessions with young people and families to prevent crisis homelessness. Safeguard young people and vulnerable adults, following appropriate escalation procedures. Maintain accurate electronic records, case notes, and data reporting. Promote and represent the service positively at local forums, events, and multi-agency meetings. Ideal Candidate : Previous experience working with young people () within housing, homelessness, or support services. Understanding of Housing Legislation particularly the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Housing Act 1996. Strong case management, advocacy, and mediation skills. Confident working independently and collaboratively within multi-agency settings. Compassionate, resilient, and passionate about preventing homelessness. Proven experience supporting clients into work or training opportunities. Knowledge of local labour markets and employer engagement strategies. Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills. Experience using case management or CRM systems.
