Our client is a large national utility contractor providing engineering and vegetation management services to electricity distributor network operators in several areas of the UK. They are urgently seeking up to 6 members of cutting staff to cover Shropshire, reporting to an office near Shrewsbury. THere is also simialr openings at their Stoke on Trent.depot. Arborists and grounds people are required to assist in any tree team duties needed for the clearance of vegetation surrounding power lines, in accordance with safe working practices. Certificates for the use of the saw and aerial rescue are desirable although training will be given if necessary. A driving licence is essential and a vehicle will be provided for team leaders for commuting and work purposes. Performance related pay is offered with earnings of 40000 achievable for a climber and circa 35000 for Grounds person.

They are now looking to appoint an Arb Contract Manager to work out of their Wood Green yard in North London. The job is varied and will include monitoring and supervising the teams, being responsible for pricing and processing of quotes and conducting and delivering associated reports and method statements .This is an opportunity for the experienced climbing arborist who wants to come off the tools and is practised at good Visual Tree Assessment techniques and has proficient IT skills. A salary of between 40 k and 45 k pa is offered plus a generous discretionary bonus structure. The job benefits from 28 days paid holiday leave (inc Banks) and the use of a company vehicle for commuting and work use.

Our client is a north London borough. They are now looking for an Arboriculturalist to run their tree planting programme. This is a hybrid role with circa 2/3 days spent at the councils offices but this can be flexible. Candidates should have knowledge and experience in tree planting, including species choice and aftercare. Reporting to the Principal Tree Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the process from sourcing the trees , choosing the planting sites, instructing the contractors to ensuring an aftercare programme is in place and adhered to. Part of the role will also include assisting with sourcing the funding for the project from external and internal stakeholders and communicating with relevant stake holders affected by the planting scheme. You should have a minimum of a Level 3 in Arboriculture and be able to travel around the borough. In return a pay rate of £22.82/hour is offered PAYE. This is a temporary role which may transfer to a permanent post for the right candidate.

A Tree Officer is needed by an Inner East London Council to assist the Arb Services Manager with the management and monitoring of all Arb works carried out by contractors. This will involve monitoring and recording all works issued to contractors to ensure that the treework is carried out to best practice. Other duties will include responding to enquiries regarding TPOs and tree related queries and Insurance claims and generally supporting the delivery of the Boroughs Tree and Woodland strategy. Candidates should be educated to a Level 3 or above in Arboriculture and ideally have working experience in a similar position within a Local Authority. This is a temporary role which may go permanent for the right candidate after a probationary period. In return a PAYE rate of upto 21.67 /hour is offered for a 36 hour week.

Our client is a Borough Council in Suffolk. They are looking for a climbing Arborist to join their in house tree team. Candidates should be qualified up to and including certificates for aerial use of a chainsaw and hold a Driving license. This is a temporary contract which may transfer from Temporary to permanent for the right candidate after a probationary period. A pay rate of between 14.50and 18.00/hour is offered for a 37 hour week.

A Tree Officer is needed for this central London Council to assist the busy Arb department with management of the Council's tree stock The role will be a broad mix of Tree Officer duties and will include developing contract arrangements with outside contractors; scheduling and monitoring tree works for the highways, housing and parks departments ;maintaining up to date tree data base records; liasing with the public and other stake holders around tree related issues and effective budget management Candidates should ideally have a minimum Level 4 in Arb with Lantra PTI (desirable) and be available for a minimum of 6 months. A PAYE rate of between 21.36 to 24.60 is offered for a 36 hour week. The role may transfer to permanent after a probationary period.

Our client, is an established Arboricultural contractor based near Edinburgh. They undertake an interesting range of work for domestic, commercial and local authority clients in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Central Scotland. One of their main clients is Edinburgh University, they are responsible for all their trees. They are looking to recruit an additional Lead Climber to join their busy team of 4 operatives. Candidates must have certificates for aerial use of the chainsaw, previous industry experience and a driving licence with use of their own vehicle to get to work. Some mechanical knowledge for maintaining and performing safety checks on vehicles and machinery is also desirable. The position is full time and permanent with and will pay up to £40k plus annual PPE allowance and a company pension scheme.
