Street Scene Enforcement Officer Location: Gravesend Salary: SC4 - (Scale point 7) to SC4 - (Scale point 11) £26,793.00 to £28,532.00 per annum (inclusive of allowances) Hours: 37hrs per week Closing date: 16/03/2026 Job summary You will be required to work 37 hours per week across five days a week including weekends and some evenings. You will carry out the littering offences under the Environmental Protection Act and any other legislation, as deemed appropriate, in the borough of Gravesham. Main responsibilities To provide uniformed enforcement patrols in all areas of the borough either on foot or in a vehicle as dictated by operational needs. Enforce environmental legislation to help prevent littering and dog fouling in the borough. Take a Zero Tolerance stance on littering offences and issue Fixed Penalty Notices to any member of the public not complying with the legislation using hand held computer equipment. Advise the public and local businesses on all Environmental issues, in a confident, polite and helpful manner. Assist the wider Enforcement Team with fly tipping investigations and where necessary and as directed by the Environmental Crime Officers issue fixed penalty notices for environmental offences. Participation in proactive and targeted multi agency projects to tackle environmental crime. Carrying out street scene checks and reporting any defects to appropriate agencies. To wear and use body worn cameras in accordance with legal requirements and good practice. To complete a record of activity and provide witness statements in accordance with legal requirements. Minimum of 4 GCSE s, grade C or equivalent, one of which must be English. Possess a Full Driving Licence and recent experience of driving manual vehicles.
