Our client is experiencing great success in growing its diverse commercial business. In order to continue this growth they are seeking to recruit an experienced data cabling engineer with the ability of working unsupervised from drawings whilst leading and training young enthusiastic but inexperienced staff. You will have many years' practical experience of installing, terminating and testing copper cabling. Some experience with internal fibre splicing would be helpful. The plan is that you would start as a lead engineer and then progress into a supervisory role and then into full site management. ECS or CSCS card and IPAF are essential. SSSTS would be beneficial

Our client has a long term contract to support the IT infrastructure of the rapidly expanding Gatwick Airport. As a result we can offer long term work to an experienced data cabling engineer with at least 5 years' experience of installing, terminating and testing Cat6 cabling. In addition, a knowledge of fibre splicing would be advantageous. The work will be in the terminals at night and specifically will be providing network connectivity to the key functions of the Airport's operation including digital signage, CCTV, Access Control, baggage handling systems, information boards and all network users. Our client is a world leading IT infrastructure installation business with a long-standing presence at Heathrow Airport. As key partners to the Airport authority they are playing a vital role in the massive expansion of the airport s infrastructure. We are seeking to recruit an experienced Supervisor to oversee a dedicated team of experienced data cabling engineers to undertake this work which will be extensive and varied. Specific tasks will include copper ethernet cabling for IT devices, digital signage, new baggage handling systems, CCTV, Access Control systems and both internal and external fibre links. However, additional work arises regularly which the team will be expected to manage as required. The role will comprise 80% hands-on supervision of works and approximately 20% office based maintaining records, updating plans and managing daily health and safety duties. What you need: You will have at least 5 years experience of installing, terminating and testing copper data cabling. Proven experience of leading a team is essential. A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity Previous airport experience is highly beneficial Experience working with major structured cabling companies in a construction environment under CDM regulations SSSTS or SMSTS as well as ECS and IPAF are essential Previous airport experience is highly beneficial. If not, you must be able to provide evidence of excellent work on major projects with contractors who work within the highest standards of quality and health & safety. 5 years references will be required to obtain an airside pass.
