Role Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Ground Source Heat Pump Engineer with expertise in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems to join our customers dynamic team. The successful candidate will have both mechanical and electrical qualifications and will be comfortable with field-based work, travelling approximately 75% of the time to customer sites (although a significant number are based within two hours of our office). As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of ground source heat pumps and CHP units, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Commissioning: Install, commission, and set up ground source heat pump systems and CHP units according to company standards and client specifications. Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on both ground source heat pumps and CHP units, with installed equipment typically in the 500kW to 1mW range, but larger installations are within the portfolio. Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in both ground source heat pump and CHP systems. Customer Support: Provide high-quality technical support and advice to clients regarding the operation and maintenance of their systems. Documentation & Reporting: Complete service reports, maintain accurate records of service work, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Travel Requirements: Travel to customer sites across specified regions or nationwide (approximately 75% of the time) to carry out installations, maintenance, and repairs. Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times. Essential Qualifications and Skills: Mechanical & Electrical Qualifications: Must be qualified in both electrical and mechanical engineering. Experience with Heat Pumps and CHP: Proven experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of Ground Source Heat Pumps and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Strong ability to diagnose and repair faults in both mechanical and electrical systems. Full UK Driving License: Must have a valid, clean UK driving license as a company vehicle will be provided. Excellent Communication Skills: Able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing clear technical guidance. Flexibility: Willing to travel frequently (approximately 75% of the time) to various sites. Desirable Skills: Experience with renewable energy systems and an understanding of energy efficiency. Previous experience working in the HVAC industry is advantageous. Knowledge of building services and environmental technologies.

To support in current initiatives, projects and quality driven tasks. To inspect both existing and new product to ensure conformance to specification. Help to develop a proactive quality culture within the company by coaching/mentoring staff, running quality driven projects and supporting all staff at all levels as and when required. Proactively assist in shop floor quality problems and customer complaints. Scrap reporting, inspection and analysis of data to identify trends. Support/Coach/Mentor staff as required to achieve a more quality minded environment Work towards and develop quality targets, departmental activities and KPIs. Assist in development of standard methods of working. Quality Instruction and Standard Ops. 5S Audits monthly of shop floor designated areas. Working towards: Liaise with customer representative on quality related issues Continuous improvement activities including data collection, analysis and problem solving techniques. Communicate quality instructions or briefs to operators and supervisory staff Supporting future activities aimed at achieving Health and Safety and Environmental standards. Introduction, system maintenance, auditing Investigating customer NCRs and returns, identify faults, communicate with staff Support Calibration process for all onsite equipment. Set up and run jigs and fixtures calibration system. Internal auditing of company systems against ISO 9001 procedures (training provided) Attend 8am daily production meeting. Discuss any quality requests, report any quality alerts Assist in route cause analysis, countermeasures and actions within NCR meetings High level CAD skill aimed at design and introduction of new templates, information books etc. Skills Required (Draw up Skills Matrix): Able to competently use measuring equipment, Interpretation of engineering drawings and customer standards. Identify faults within products and processes and identify methods to remedy Good problem solving skills. Confident decision maker and proactive in approach to continuous improvement. Good data analysis skills. Good communication skills (written and oral) Able to prioritise own schedule of work and show good organization skills. Ability to work with minimum supervision, individually and as part of a team. Ability to interact with staff at all levels. Good level of computer literacy Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Potential for future progression to Engineer
