This role can be very challenging and requires a consistent, calm, and skilled approach to care. About the Role You will provide person-centred support to enable the individual to live safely and maintain stability in their daily life. The role involves managing complex behaviours, supporting emotional regulation, and responding appropriately to sensory needs. Key Responsibilities Providing high-quality, person-centred care and support Supporting an individual with autism and sensory challenges Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour safely Using restraint/physical intervention techniques when required and in line with training and policy Maintaining accurate daily records and care notes Working closely with families and professionals Essential Requirements Proven experience supporting individuals with autism and sensory disorders Experience managing challenging behaviour Excellent communication skills (verbal and non-verbal) Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training Restraint / Physical Intervention training (e.g. MAPA, PMVA, CPI or equivalent) A calm, patient, and resilient approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) Experience in complex care or supported living environments
