Job Description Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Technical Architect Role Overview The Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Technical Architect is responsible for designing and governing the technical architecture of enterprise ERP implementations built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). This role ensures the platform is implemented according to Microsoft best practices, enterprise architecture standards, and scalable cloud architecture patterns, while supporting integrations, customisations, reporting, security, and DevOps automation. The Technical Architect works closely with Functional Leads, Integration Architects, and DevOps teams to ensure that the ERP solution remains maintainable, performant, and extensible across the entire implementation lifecycle. Requirements Key Responsibilities Design the technical architecture for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations Define customisation and extension strategies aligned with Microsoft best practices Ensure the solution uses extension-based development rather than over-layering Design integration architecture with enterprise systems Establish security and identity architecture Design integrations between Dynamics and enterprise platforms such as: CRM systems Payroll systems Procurement systems Banking platforms External regulatory services Typical integration technologies include: REST APIs OData services Data Management Framework Technical Governance Conduct code reviews Ensure compliance with Microsoft Dynamics best practices Maintain technical documentation Performance & Scalability Ensure the solution supports enterprise workloads by: Optimising database access Ensuring efficient batch processing Designing scalable integrations Monitoring system performance Define DevOps architecture including: automated deployments release management Common tooling includes: Git repositories build pipelines automated testing frameworks Ensure data integrity across integrations Support data warehousing and analytics initiatives Security & Compliance Define role-based security models Implement segregation of duties Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies Support regulatory compliance requirements Required Skills Core Technical Skills Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations architecture Data Management Framework (DMF) OData services SQL Server performance optimisation Integration Expertise REST API integration message-based integrations DevOps automated build pipelines release management Experience Requirements 8-12 years enterprise ERP experience 5+ years working with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Experience leading large ERP implementations Experience with Azure cloud platforms Preferred Certifications Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Solution Architect
