Job description Test Engineer Salary: 34- 38k DOE Our client is looking to appoint an additional full time Test Engineer to assist their busy team in the manufacturing department. The Role The successful Test Engineer will be required to thoroughly test and inspect PCBs to ensure our customers receive quality assured products. You will run tests on various components and features in order to identify and fix technical issues. You will work closely with the Production and Inspection Teams to understand the product specification. Then, you will run a series of tests depending on product type to ensure it meets its specified standard and identify and diagnose any malfunctions that could arise. Ultimately, you'll ensure our final products meet our quality standards and customer expectations. You will also action the customer's test requirements and report results. Responsibilities Gather product requirements (e.g. functionalities, speed, safety standards) Run quality controls on components and final products Analyse test results, detect issues and track root causes Suggest fixes and improvements Document technical issues and solutions Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards Requirements Previous experience as a Test Engineer or similar role Familiarity with various testing techniques and use of equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and in-circuit debugger/programmer Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) Knowledge of quality standards and regulations Great troubleshooting skills Analytical mindset High level of competency with Microsoft Office, including Excel & Word Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus Experience Required A qualification in Electronic Engineering would be great but experience in a similar role is acceptable. You will work closely with the Manufacturing, R&D, and Mechanical teams to create high-quality PCB designs for production and assembly. Key Responsibilities: Create and revise schematic and PCB designs. Develop and manage PCB Assembly Bill of Materials (BOM). Interpret design briefs, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate and effective designs. Collaborate with engineers, customers, and suppliers to refine and develop designs. Ensure designs meet industry standards, company specifications, and project requirements. Maintain an organised library of PCB and schematic footprints. Participate in design reviews and provide practical solutions to design challenges.
