We are looking for a Head of Project Controls to join our team on HS2 Main Works Civils Contract. As the Head of Project Controls, you will be ultimately responsible for driving continued success of the Project Controls Team to facilitate the delivery of a major project. You will report to the Project Management Office Director. The project operates an Integrated Project Team (IPT) approach. Technical Assurance Engineer (Maternity Cover) Job Introduction We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Assurance Engineer (12 month maternity cover). The Technical Assurance team are responsible for capturing, developing and demonstrating compliance to Client and Stakeholder requirements, facilitating configuration and technical change management. The Quality Inspector is responsible for managing the independent site inspections. Providing assurance to both the SCSJV Management and the Client that the Delivery Team and the supply chain are delivering the Works in accordance with the Works Information and the design requirements. The first line of defence will be by the delivery of on-site training and coaching of the Delivery Team. The second line will be by carrying out inspections of the Works. The role will involve working in a specific area of the project and providing support to other Quality Inspectors across both sections of the project. Role Responsibility Be proactive in preventing substandard Works being produced by coaching and providing training. To be the arbiter between all parties on any quality related issues, preventing them being raised directly to the Project Director where possible without compromising quality. Communicate with delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements. Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the Work Information. Ensure that inspection and tests are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans, Safe System of Work for controlling the works and that all necessary documentation is produced in a timely manner. Assist the Quality engineers in carrying out site surveillances. SCS IT Team is responsible for managing cloud-based services and on-site facilities for about 2000 users. Our services are SaaS by Construction related solution providers, and our effort is towards ensuring business requirements and service levels are met. The Solution Architect is responsible for taking the lead role in the delivery of solutions and ensuring adherence to integration architecture discipline, integration architecture, policies & design for the systems and providing hands-on integration technical capability leading to establish support function within IT department. A strategic thinker who has implemented SaaS and Azure solutions and created high level and low-level technical documentation. This is a hands-on role, the solution architect will design, implement solutions, and ensure the solutions meet the needs of IT requirements. The role will report to Head of Systems and Data and will provide cover and support the Head of Systems and Data. Role Responsibility Analyze and deliver solutions and ensure integration requirements align with best practice and policies for projects/BAU works which involves IT systems. Hands-on skill to help deliver Design, Build, Test and also to lead/review the works delivered by third parties. Lead and manage integration architecture activities together with other IT architects, support teams and 3rd party vendors. Be "the go-to person" for all the integration related topics, information and knowledge of the integration technologies, platforms and architecture. Own and manage integration architecture related artefacts (integration inventory, integration architecture/design, guidelines, integration patterns). Closely work with support/service team, 3rd parties to monitor integration related issues and lead resolution in timely manner (specially production incidents) and take proactive actions. Ensure compliance with IT Security policies, and participates in security, audit and regulatory initiatives. Reinforce security rules and escalate where risky activity is detected. Manage the schedule & timeline of the activities across multiple systems/regions, assess and avoid conflicts and streamline the work efforts and communicate with relevant parties. The Ideal Candidate Proven experience of leading data warehouse/SQL/Azure implementations and own the integration strategy through to execution and delivery in established IT department. Proven architectural design skills and ability to discuss the merits and trade-offs of using any particular design approach and technology. Design and implementation of SaaS solutions and system integrations (must have). Create both High Level Design and Low-Level Design documents (must have). Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (must have). Experience of implementing Databricks and Data Warehouse solutions (must have). The Systems Engineering Technical Assurance Team is responsible for demonstrating that the works carried out by the JV meet HS2's Employers requirements as set out in the Works Information and Contract Requirements Technical. This includes ensuring that all work packages understand the relevant requirements, and provide the appropriate Validation and Verification evidence to demonstrate that the requirements have been met. The Technical Assurance Manager will be responsible for planning the assurance and certification strategy for several Design and Construction Work Packages and agreeing the acceptance criteria with HS2, enabling them to accept that the requirements and design intent being delivered by the SCSJV and its subcontractors meet the needs and objectives of HS2 and DfT as sponsor. Role Responsibility Develop Technical Assurance Plans for specific Work Packages in collaboration with work package managers, subject matter experts, stakeholders and the employer. Undertake the planned technical assurance activities in line with the agreed technical assurance plans in liaison with those delivering the works. Activities will include monitoring progress of works activities, reviewing deliverables for evidence of compliance, raising issues where appropriate and negotiating corrective actions with those responsible for the works. Coordinate the certification activities for work packages to gain L3 certification from the Employer. Contribute to the continued improvement of the technical assurance strategy, processes and systems. Deliver technical assurance communications such as staff briefings and technical assurance awareness training. Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project. The Ideal Candidate Chartered Engineer or significant experience of working at equivalent level in a project environment; Experience of the application of system engineering and or assurance processes, preferably in rail infrastructure/construction projects or equivalent; Knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment and statutory obligations relating to rail infrastructure/construction projects or equivalent; Capable of developing plans and managing workload/activities and taking sole accountability for task delivery; Capable of working collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, management and the project leadership, clients, sub-contractors, regulatory bodies and other major stakeholders, credible in building relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders; Able to show resilience and tenacity whilst remaining adaptable and flexible when working under the pressure of tight deadlines and project change; High standard of verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate technical assurance and system engineering concepts to a variety of audiences; Awareness of the various disciplines involved in delivering major projects, their roles and responsibilities and their relationship to assurance; Good information management and analytical skills, able to quickly and efficiently seek out the relevant and pertinent points from large volumes of project information; Experienced in the use of project information tools and management systems including MS Office and web-based collaboration technologies for project information and process management, such as Enterprise Bentley, Projectwise or similar.
