The Quality Lead will be accountable for ensuring that all TEXO products and services meet defined quality standards, with full alignment to ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Key responsibilities Managing and assuring fabrication activities in compliance with EN1090 Part 1 and 2, ISO 3834 Part 2 & Schedule 1A Module D of PE(S)R. Overseeing inspection activities to the standards of ISO/IEC 17020. Ensuring the delivery of HVAC products to ISO/IEC (phone number removed) requirements. Maintaining and continually improving the company s quality management systems to uphold certification and regulatory obligations. Job Purpose: TEXO Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical / Engine Technician to carry out service and repair work on mobile plant equipment at the Port in Teesside. Key Responsibilities: Conduct planned maintenance on main and auxiliary engines, including oil and fluid changes, filter replacements, and inspections of cooling and fuel systems. Perform diagnostics, servicing, and maintenance using specialist diagnostic tools. Strip down, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic, diesel, and hybrid engine components (e.g., injectors, turbochargers, cylinder heads). Maintain and repair propulsion drives, hydraulic motors, steering gear, and marine gearboxes. Service deck equipment such as electric winches, fuel pumps, firefighting gear, and bilge systems. Support dry docking procedures, engine overhauls, and Class inspections when required. Accurately record all work in the ERP system and assist with parts ordering and stock control. Respond to emergency callouts and breakdowns involving port and harbour vessels. Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in a similar mechanical or engine technician role. TEXO Recruitment are delighted to be sourcing for a Mechanical Technician to join our external clients growing team. The successful candidate will be required to work onshore from our clients facilities in South Aberdeen . Purpose of the Role: The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, rectification, and readiness of flexlay assets (Reel Drive Systems, Tensioners, HPUs) to ensure seamless project deployment. This role includes preparing assets for deployment, inspecting them upon return, and performing necessary rectifications to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards. The successful candidate must ensure a proactive and continuous approach to safety, technical, industry and company standards as well as client site safety initiatives. Maintenance and Rectification: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on flexlay assets to ensure optimal functionality. Diagnose and rectify mechanical issues promptly to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operations. Maintain detailed maintenance records and report any recurrent issues for further analysis and improvement. Asset Preparation for Project Deployment: Inspect and test flexlay assets before deployment to ensure they meet project specifications and safety standards. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to align asset readiness with project timelines. Ensure all tools and equipment required for deployment are in good condition and properly calibrated. Inspection and Rectification Post-Project: Conduct thorough inspections of returned flexlay assets to assess their condition and identify any wear, damage, or required maintenance. Execute necessary repairs and adjustments to return assets to optimal working condition. Update maintenance logs with findings and actions taken post-project to inform future maintenance schedules. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the asset team to suggest improvements in asset design and maintenance procedures. Participate in training programs to stay current with technological advancements and best practices in mechanical maintenance. Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures and protocols to enhance efficiency and safety.
