Secure funding, develop bids, and support partner organisations in enhancing Sheffield's sport and leisure offer. Engage with stakeholders, local committees, elected members, and community partners to ensure projects are viable, sustainable, and meet service objectives. Collect and analyse data, monitor progress, and contribute to service and business planning. Manage and support staff as required, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Represent the Partnerships, Sport and Health Team within the Council and with external organisations, including occasional evening and weekend work. Requirements Proven experience in project management and delivery, ideally within sport, leisure, or physical activity sectors. Strong organisational, coordination, and partnership working skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a commitment to customer-focused service. Experience in securing funding and managing budgets. Ability to lead and support staff, and to work flexibly to meet deadlines. Commitment to equality, diversity, and the Council's core values. Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of sport, physical activity, and leisure development projects. The Sport Development Officer is member of Archery GB's Sport Development Team accountable for delivering agreed projects and initiatives to support an increase in the number of people taking up archery across a defined geography. To work collaboratively with local partners to develop, promote and enhance archery Key Activities Raise the profile of archery and be an advocate for the sport across the area. Engage with regular local partner meetings representing Archery GB, as well as facilitating two-way dialogue from local partners to Archery GB. Consult and work with the volunteer workforce, supporting their needs, and fostering a development culture within the archery network. Form effective relationships with stakeholders, such as active partnerships, local authorities, and other suitable partners so that they contribute to our development objectives. Assist and support clubs in organising activities to develop, improve, and grow by linking strategic goals to grassroots efforts. With the Head of Clubs and Membership, provide advice and guidance to successfully deliver projects and programmes aimed at increasing and retaining members. Spearhead national projects as lead officer as prescribed by the Heads of service and/or Director of Sport Development; and work as part of the team on cross-team development activities coordinating activity across the designated area. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, regularly reporting progress to the Delivery Lead. Evaluate program outcomes to build on good practices and minimise poor ones. Our aquatic disciplines provide training environments in a number of Performance Centres across the UK for permanent athlete groups as well as acting as 'performance hubs' for national programme-wide activity for World Class Programme athletes. A recent change has seen the Sports Science Sports Medicine Practitioner Team adopt a cross-aquatic remit, which reinforces the aquatic integration. You will be responsible for helping to provide an unparalleled level of support out of our Manchester Performance Centre to our athletes daily training environment for both Paralympic and Olympic swimmers, the role also spans all aquatic disciplines through regional network responsibilities. SUMMARY Responsibilities The successful candidate will craft and execute comprehensive strength and conditioning programmes, both within the Manchester Performance Centre and across our decentralised network, with the primary objectives being to enhance swim performance and mitigate injury risks. Additionally, active involvement in Individual Athlete Planning processes and directed projects by the Head of Physical Performance and Para-Swimming Sports Science Sports Medicine Lead is expected. This role is an integral part of a collaborative Multi-Disciplinary Team, emphasizing teamwork and cooperation to effectively deliver on the World Class Programme's objectives. In addition, this position will play an important role in coach education across the network raising understanding of the benefits and impact that effective Strength and Conditioning provision can have on swimming performance. There will be an expectation that the post holder contributes to wider sports science tasks as identified by the Head of Physical Performance and Para-Swimming Sports Science Sports Medicine Lead. Qualifications We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a passion for working in high performance teams. Successful candidates will show the ability to work collaboratively, display critical thinking and problem-solving skills and have the ability to work flexibly and a willingness to frequently travel.
