NIFRS wish to invite applications for the following role: FIREFIGHTER (CONTROL) Ref : C002/01/2026 (Fixed Term - 3 years) A number of posts are available. Salary : £28,865 (development) - £36,937 (competent) per annum. You will commence on development rate of pay. Location : NIFRS Headquarters, Lisburn (all roles are based onsite) Hours of Work : RCC provides a 24/7 service, 365 days a year and as such, successful candidates will be required to work a 'shift system.' The Regional Control Centre is the first point of contact for members of the public with NIFRS when an emergency arises. A Firefighter (Control) answers emergency calls using specialised techniques in order to support and protect callers in potentially life-threatening situations whilst mobilising fire service resources. The role is challenging and as such, will involve a rigorous selection process with only candidates of the very highest calibre succeeding. In order to be successful in the role, a Firefighter (Control) must be able to process information quickly, prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure.
