Overview Location: CTU, Birmingham, West Midland, B4 6NQ, GB Contract type: Full Time, Permanent Grade: 6 Information about the role As an Intelligence Officer you'll work closely with Intelligence Analysts and Researchers in researching, gathering, evaluating, developing, analysing and disseminating intelligence for a range of objectives. You'll manage the Threat, Harm and Risk presented to the force and region, supporting the effective use of the National Decision Model (NDM). You'll be part of a flexible and professional workforce. You'll work in a secure environment with a highly motivated team where personal and professional development is encouraged, this includes the ability to work with national agencies and to support the CT network when demand increases in response to a CT incident. Your role will see you having a high degree of computer literacy; you'll utilise a variety of computer systems and applications, including the core systems used by the CT Network, as well as digital data, applications and tools. Responsibilities Researching and assessing intelligence on individuals identified as highest harm threats (people and problems). Gathering, analysing and de-conflicting intelligence, producing case files and subject profiles. Identifying intelligence gaps and helping set intelligence requirements. Supporting live operational activity with real-time research and evaluation of information. Managing the information that is available to ensure it is up to date and accurate. Accessing Police systems and open source material, working closely with the Intelligence Analysts to enhance the intelligence picture for individuals. Handling of covertly obtained material in accordance with identified policy and process. Working with partner agencies to provide intelligence support to major covert investigations Conducting intelligence debriefs where appropriate. Preparing of RIPA applications. This vacancy is for a role in the CTPNW Prevent team as a Regional Triage Officer. The Prevent Triage Team is responsible for the assessment of all Prevent referrals received in the North West in relation to individuals who may be vulnerable to moving towards terrorism. As a Triage Officer, you will work as part of a wider team to accurately review material and research intelligence systems in order to assess and develop threat, risk and vulnerability in order to make a recommendation on an appropriate course of action You will be responsible for contacting partner agencies as well as working with local police forces alongside Counter Terrorism to gather appropriate information to make an informed assessment of the referral.
