IT & Infrastructure Lead Location: Melton, East Yorkshire Salary: Up to £55,000 Permanent Site-based We're recruiting an IT & Infrastructure Lead for an established and growing operational business based in Melton, East Yorkshire. This is a newly defined, site-based role offering genuine ownership of the local IT environment. You'll become the key technical point of contact on site, working closely with an established managed service provider and wider Group IT teams to ensure infrastructure, systems and end-user technology remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose. It would suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer, Senior IT Engineer, Site IT Lead or Infrastructure Lead who enjoys being hands-on but is ready for greater ownership and autonomy. The role You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and ongoing improvement of the site's IT infrastructure, including: Supporting and maintaining servers, networks, Wi-Fi, switches and site connectivity Microsoft 365 administration and end-user technology Managing laptops, tablets, phones and other IT assets throughout their lifecycle Acting as the on-site technical point of contact when infrastructure or connectivity issues arise Working with the external MSP to troubleshoot issues, manage incidents and coordinate technical projects Building stronger processes around asset management, hardware replacement and IT documentation Supporting implementation of Group IT, cyber security and technology standards Identifying infrastructure risks and improvement opportunities before they become operational problems Providing practical first and second-line support where physical intervention is required The site also operates a range of automated and operational technologies, so you'll work aroundSCADA and other industrial systems , helping diagnose infrastructure or connectivity issues and coordinating specialist support where necessary. You will not be expected to be a controls engineer or PLC programmer. What we're looking for We're interested in people with a strong background in IT infrastructure and networking, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering, logistics, processing, energy or similarly operational environment. You're likely to have experience across areas such as: Windows and Microsoft 365 environments Networking, LAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs and TCP/IP Servers and physical infrastructure Endpoint and device management IT asset and hardware lifecycle management Working with managed service providers or external IT partners Infrastructure troubleshooting and technical project coordination Exposure to SCADA, operational technology, industrial networks or manufacturing systems would be particularly useful, but deep OT expertise is not essential. More important is the ability to understand a broad technology environment, take ownership of problems and work effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders. Interim Head of Manufacturing Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Head of Manufacturing to provide leadership across a growing manufacturing operation during an important period of development. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for manufacturing performance, frontline leadership, operational structure and continuous improvement. The appointment is initially being made on an interim basis, although there may be scope for the role to become permanent for the right individual. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the Interim Head of Manufacturing will provide experienced oversight across production while helping to strengthen the production supervision tier, create greater clarity around roles and responsibilities, and establish the measures, disciplines and management routines required within a scaling manufacturing environment. You will ideally bring: Significant experience leading manufacturing operations within a complex or scaled production environment Strong experience managing and developing supervisors and frontline manufacturing leaders A proven track record of improving production performance and operational discipline Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, performance management and operational reporting Experience defining clearer roles, responsibilities and management expectations Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and process optimisation The credibility to coach, challenge and support established manufacturing teams A structured, analytical and pragmatic approach to operational improvement Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills The ability to assess an operation quickly, identify priorities and translate them into practical action Previous interim, transformation or operational improvement experience would be advantageous, although experienced manufacturing leaders capable of quickly assessing and strengthening an operation will also be considered. This is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of product development and introduction projects, bringing people together and turning an established product roadmap into delivered products. You'll work across engineering, design, manufacturing, commercial and marketing teams, creating clarity around priorities and keeping projects moving. From understanding the initial business brief through development, testing and manufacturing readiness to market introduction, you'll provide the structure, coordination and momentum needed for successful delivery. The Opportunity: As a Project Manager: NPD / NPI you'll play a key role in: Owning manufactured-product NPD and NPI projects from an agreed business brief through to market introduction, establishing clear scope, milestones, responsibilities and achievable delivery dates. Developing and managing practical project plans, coordinating cross-functional teams and monitoring progress against key milestones, dependencies, resources and priorities. Bringing engineering, design, manufacturing, commercial and marketing colleagues together, securing actions and decisions while keeping projects moving when challenges arise. Coordinating product testing, validation and certification activity within the wider project plan, ensuring the appropriate technical owners and specialists are involved while managing the impact on overall delivery. Identifying project risks and resource constraints early, providing clear progress reporting and using lessons learned to establish and continually improve a repeatable NPD/NPI process. Your work will directly contribute to getting new products to market successfully, while giving senior stakeholders greater visibility of project status, risks, priorities and the decisions required to maintain delivery. About You: We're looking for someone who can bring: Proven experience personally owning NPD or NPI projects involving manufactured products, with responsibility across the lifecycle from an agreed business requirement through to launch. Strong project management capability, including creating project plans, managing milestones and dependencies, identifying risks and maintaining momentum across concurrent priorities. Experience coordinating engineering, design, manufacturing and commercial stakeholders, with the ability to influence delivery without relying on direct line-management authority. A practical understanding of product development and introduction processes, together with experience establishing, improving or working within structured NPD/NPI methodologies. Clear communication, analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving, with the confidence to challenge constructively, secure decisions and adapt plans when circumstances change. Experience of certified or regulated products, external testing, validation or formal approval processes would be advantageous, but sector-specific experience is not essential. You may come from an engineering or design background, but what matters most is your track record of personally driving manufactured-product projects through the complete NPD/NPI journey. You'll be comfortable working in a hands-on environment where processes are developing and where practical delivery matters more than unnecessary complexity.
