Job Purpose The Service Delivery Technical Lead role will be a key part of our IT Operations team and responsible for managing the Business Infrastructure and Cloud Services for the firm. These Services are varied but include Cloud, Hosted and On-Premise solutions and platforms. This is a dynamic role, working with a broad range of Technologies in a growing firm with key change programmes including full migration to cloud. The role would suit an individual who has supported and managed in a similar environment and in a related business area. Role and Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, this role will help develop the delivery and support of Cloud and Infrastructure solutions in addition to Managed and Vendor provisioned services as the organisation undergoes major transformation. There are no direct line management responsibilities with this role. This is Technical Lead position. A good working knowledge of the technical operational processes used to deploy and change the technical infrastructure Delivering new projects and requirements focused around end user computing and virtual desktop infrastructure. Partnering with the Technical Service Owners to influence the road map for Technical Operations services. Conducting Impact Assessments to assess impact of key updates/changes and preparing environment to handle them. Implementing production changes following the change control process to ensure smooth implementation. Troubleshooting and fixing more complex user issues that cannot be resolved by L1 and L2 teams. Creating and reviewing Workplace documentation. Working with InfoSec on delivery maturity to the security road map. Identifying opportunities to optimise and modernise the end user infrastructure Architecture, driving cost efficiencies. Identifying and positioning new infrastructure technologies that yield competitive advantage. Serving on various forums to analyse projects and programs to ensure they are technically sound, will do no harm, and will deliver the expected outcomes. Experience in maintaining virtualisation platforms such as VMware. Experience with Windows and Linux/UNIX servers and desktops. Experience in structured change management including core service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) Solid problem-solving skills with proficient attention to detail Solid documentation skills There is an experienced team in place to work with, and the candidate will work closely with these. The candidate will have experience in a broad variety of applications, database and development areas; experience of working in technology functions with a track record of delivering a high professional standard technology function at a significant organisation (1,500 seats+) ; experience in professional services would also be beneficial.
