MAIN FUNCTIONS As a highly skilled and valued member of the mechanical maintenance team, the candidate will play a key role in working safely to deliver world class maintenance competitiveness as part of a the overall site transformation road map. Working with one of the leading energy companies in the world as part of the routine and base maintenance team the candidate will be responsible for: Partnering with the First Line Supervisor to actively develop and build your safety capacity through use of the Personal Safety Management System (Tools), once trained. Demonstrating a high level of resilience, ownership and innovation in solving an array of mechanical maintenance problems. Collaborating with the site operations team to safely and efficiently execute planned maintenance tasks on site. Collaborating with site planning and supervision to ensure the safest and most efficient preventative maintenance and defect repairs are carried out to mechanical equipment both at initial planning phase and as part of After Action Reviews to continuously improve how we work. Carrying out Root Cause Failure Analysis on equipment failures and working with other functions (Operations, Engineering) to mitigate future recurrence. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates. Actively participate in the use of all on the job safety tools Review job packs Identify any safety issues associated with job end ensure removal/mitigation prior to working Execute work as planned Record technical history as required by work group. (Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheet, etc.) Provide feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLS Request permits and notify Supervisor if permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of requested time. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Discipline appropriate certification(s) if applicable or equivalent professional experience Strong communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps Team Player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with persons over whom the person may have no direct authority and willingness to assist others Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs. To be part of a high performing team in this role the Candidate will: Be passionate about eliminating waste within maintenance processes, driving continuous improvement in maintenance competitiveness. Feel a sense of accomplishment and pride with the work you do. Have successfully completed an apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical trade. HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent will be advantageous. Have experience working within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry Have a good command of written and spoken English. Be effective at delivering results both independently or as part of a mechanical maintenance team Have a conscientious, careful and independent way of working in order to deliver results in the field. Fluency with computer and IT systems, including Microsoft office proficiency (Word, Excel) . Ideally be fluent in the use of data management systems such as SAP. Have the ability to safely adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities, including flexibility to work out of hours where required. Demonstrate strong communication skills; with ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation steps.

Job Description We are seeking a Power Electronics Test Engineer with a strong emphasis on lab-based testing, electrical testing, and fault finding. This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys hands-on work with electronic systems, ensuring that power electronics systems are tested thoroughly for functionality, reliability, and safety. In addition to power electronics, you will also work with general electrical systems, making this a well-rounded role for an engineer passionate about lab-based testing and diagnostics. Working across multiple industries, including Marine and Defence, you will play a crucial role in the validation and troubleshooting of systems such as power converters, motor drives, and electrical systems. Key Responsibilities Lab-Based Testing & Validation Lead hands-on testing of power electronics and electrical systems in a lab environment, ensuring systems perform according to specifications and safety standards. Develop and execute test plans, including functional and performance testing for power converters, motor drives, and other related systems. Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power analyzers, and signal generators to conduct precise measurements and validate system performance. Electrical Testing & Fault Finding Perform electrical testing on both low-voltage and high-voltage systems, identifying issues and ensuring that systems are safe and functional under various operating conditions. Troubleshoot system faults, diagnose complex technical problems, and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal system performance. System Integration & Support Support the integration of power electronics into larger systems, testing the compatibility and performance of systems when combined with other components. Collaborate with engineers to validate designs through testing and provide input on potential product improvements based on test outcomes. Set up and maintain test rigs, ensuring the accuracy and safety of all testing operations. Lab Maintenance & Safety Manage the test lab environment, ensuring that all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for testing activities. Ensure all testing procedures follow relevant health and safety protocols, particularly when dealing with high-voltage equipment. Set up and maintain test rigs, ensuring the accuracy and safety of all testing operations. Documentation & Reporting Prepare detailed test reports, documenting testing procedures, outcomes, and any identified issues or inconsistencies. Write technical documentation that outlines test results, troubleshooting steps, and suggestions for system improvement. Communicate findings to both internal teams and customers, providing clear recommendations for system adjustments and future enhancements. Customer Support Provide technical support during customer-facing activities, including field testing and installation, ensuring that systems perform to customer expectations. Assist in customer troubleshooting, offering hands-on solutions and advice to resolve technical issues in deployed systems. Qualifications / Skills Required Education HND, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics Engineering, or a related field with a focus on electrical testing and electronics systems. Experience Proven experience in power electronics testing, fault finding, and lab-based testing of power converters, motor drives, or other complex electronic systems. Hands-on experience with lab-based equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators, and power analyzers. Familiarity with electrical testing on both low-voltage and high-voltage systems, including diagnostics and fault resolution. Skills Strong knowledge of power electronics, electrical systems, and converter topologies Expertise in electrical testing, including the ability to interpret test data, troubleshoot issues, and suggest corrective actions. Experience developing and executing test plans, with the ability to analyze data and draw actionable insights. Proficiency in fault-finding and problem-solving, particularly in a lab environment Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to produce detailed technical reports and collaborate with engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on power systems or electrical systems in industries such as Marine, Defense, or Aerospace. Hands-on experience in the integration of power electronics into larger systems, testing systems under real-world conditions. Knowledge of safety protocols in lab environments, particularly when working with high-voltage and high-power equipment. Proficiency with simulation tools to validate designs before physical testing.
