You will be experienced in producing and reviewing technical outputs such as technical specifications, sizing and designing pumping systems and aeration systems, schedules, reports and familiar with collaborative planning reviews and designs of solutions. You will be able to provide engineering input to design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills and be able to deliver technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops, safety reviews including HAZOPs and ALMs. You will also be able to provide technical leadership to the Mechanical design team and support the development of junior engineers. You will understand how water and wastewater treatment processes operate and be experienced in assessing existing site infrastructure to develop and deliver the mechanical design. You will perform design, model and analyse electrical and electronic systems to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards. You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure a fully integrated project design. About You You will ideally be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the IET. Ideally you will have some experience in the Energy sector, although experience in other sectors such as water or buildings is useful also. Integrate multiple engineering disciplines from a mix of internal and external designers and OEMs. Undertake the role of Principal Design Representative on project(s) ensuring design information is being suitable managed to the various roles and compliant with the requirements of CDM 2015 Regulations Involvement in the development of Business Unit and Group Design Management continual process improvement activities Review design pack submissions as required for technical compliance, quality and completeness. Develop and assist the project Planners with maintaining the design and engineering aspect of programmes. Monitor and expedite key engineering programme issues including the procurement of services and equipment to the Business Unit Procurement function. Review and liaise with internal Temporary Works Coordinators and Designers to ensure appropriate consideration of constructability and required permanent works. Manage compliance with Standards and Client requirements and assist in monitoring to ensure working to standard requirements. Ensure an understanding of, and an influence on the contracts Design Consultants are working under including their fees, schedule of services, programme, and liabilities and warranties. Review and comment the payment applications from consultants and pass to the contract surveyor for processing and payment.
