You will need to have an excellent understanding of the Early Years and or Key Stage 1 curriculum and will be able to adapt this to varying ability levels in the class. Our schools are seeking a teacher who can understand how young pupils develop, and be able to plan provision to meet the needs of a range of learners, and work hard so every pupil reaches the best of their ability. Phonics is vital in all of these roles, and being able to develop pupil understanding in this area is pivital to pupil progression. Phonics screening experience is key for these teaching roles and Year 2 SATs preparation is desirable.
