The Android Application Developer Role: You will work within the software engineering team to develop exciting new cloud-based telephony products. You will take ownership of development of the native Android version of the product and are responsible for its technical design, deployment and maintenance. The application utilises web service APIs exposed by the platform's Server Side components hosted on Microsoft Azure. As this application is key to our future strategy, you will have the opportunity to make a major contribution to the future growth, competitive advantage and commercial success of the company. You'll be ideal for us if you have: + 3+ years' experience designing and developing Android applications on a range of screen sizes and devices + Android app user interface design in line with Google's UI/UX guidelines + Experience of preparing Android applications for deployment to the Google Play Store + Extensive experience of using an Agile development approach (eg Scrum, Lean, FDD) for rapid application development and release Core Technical Skills include: + Languages: Kotlin, Java + IDEs: Android Studio + Technologies: Android 9.0+ (SDK API level 29+), JSON, RESTful HTTP APIs + Use of Git for source code version control + Familiarity with the best practices in Android development, including but not limited to design patterns such as Android Architecture Components and MVVM, and test tools like Espresso Other Useful skills would be: + Data synchronisation using MongoDB Realm + Security; OAuth2.x, Auth0 + Knowledge of mobile telephony or VoIP + Automated test tools for mobile applications + Push notifications using Firebase or GCM (knowledge of Azure Notification Hubs an advantage) + Experience of Android app development for systems hosted on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure + Microsoft App Center + JavaScript, Node.js + C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core What's in it for you?
