Database Developer London/Hybrid Insurance £50,000-£70,000 Skills - Data Warehousing, SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, ETL, Azure Data factory, Azure Devops, Power BI A vacancy has arisen for an experienced and motivated Database Developer to work within a syndicate of the Lloyds Insurance Market. This will include supporting the systems utilised by the Syndicate including development of ad-hoc solutions to system development requests and providing support in all areas of their IT department Responsibilities include: Take a key role in the development and maintenance of the existing Data Warehouse solution including ETL processes, SSAS Cubes and SSRS reports using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack Assist in the development, management, and testing (including regression) of in-house bespoke systems as required Elicit, analyse, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders; interviewing stakeholders and gather and compiling users' needs Ability to interpret business requirements and technical system specification documents Develop and maintain reusable code using best practices which can be leveraged for future use Take ownership of the administration and maintenance of regular processes and identify any root cause issues which may require escalation Essential skills: Excellent knowledge of Data Warehousing design techniques (Kimball/Star Schema) with competence using the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack Advanced knowledge of T-SQL including database schema design, views, stored procedures, user defined functions, and database optimisation techniques Advanced knowledge of SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and Report Definition Language (RDL) Experience of source control platforms eg Team Foundation Server, GIT or similar technologies Experience of using Visual Studio or similar IDE Extensive experience with complex query design from multiple data sources Skills in the following areas are advantageous: Hands on experience using Microsoft Azure technologies including DevOps, Azure Data Factory and Power BI Exposure to the insurance industry General all-round IT support knowledge This is a chance to work in a small and growing team where you will have the chance to have your say and play a part in growing the Systems Development function within the company Benefits; - 25 Days Holiday - Performance Bonus - Health Insurance - Health assured Employee Assistance Programme - Critical Illness cover - Private medical insurance - 12% pension - Death in service - 10x salary - Dental cover - Season ticket loan - Gym Membership - Pret coffee subscription
