Yard Operative/FLT Driver Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk Hours: Monday to Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm) This is a temp-to-perm position with a 12-week temporary period, leading to a permanent contract. Immediate start available. We are seeking a hard working Yard Operative with an FLT License to join a well-established company in Mildenhall. In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in inspecting, servicing, and maintaining equipment to meet high-quality standards. You will also ensure excellent service for equipment hire, handling all depot transactions safely, efficiently, and in line with company policies. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain equipment for hire, ensuring it's ready for immediate use. Operate counterbalance or multi-directional forklifts to load/unload vehicles and move equipment (FLT license is a great advantage). Accurately pick, return, and scan equipment, resolving any stock discrepancies. Safely load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage. Clean equipment using a pressure washer to uphold high standards. Inspect, service, and repair hire equipment and depot assets to company specifications. Use pneumatic/electrical hand tools (full in-house training provided). Maintain accurate service and inspection records. Occasionally drive the depot van as needed. The Ideal Candidate: A full, clean driving license is highly desirable. A valid FLT (counterbalance) license is a plus. Comfortable using scanners, PDAs, tablets, and computers.
