We are currently looking for experienced Panel Wirers to work for of our clients on a temp to perm basis The company is a well-respected world leader in the manufacturer of specialist electrical equipment for a variety of applications worldwide. Based in their workshop near Burton on Trent this Panel Wirers role will involve working on the repair and refurbishment of used equipment and the main duties will include all aspects of electrical wiring/assembly ranging from control panels, sub-assemblies/frames through to smaller component installation. The successful applicants for this Panel Wirers position will have a proven track record in a similar role ideally with a recognised relevant qualification although this is not essential. The ability to read and understand schematic diagrams is essential. Previous experience of machine building or assembly would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be responsible for wiring electrical control panels to specification, working from electrical drawings and schematics, and ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics Wire and assemble electrical control panels to specification and deadlines Install components such as contactors, relays, PLCs, power supplies, terminals, and cable management systems Carry out point-to-point wiring, crimping, looming, and trunking Ensure panels are built to relevant electrical standards and company procedures Identify and resolve wiring issues or discrepancies in drawings Work efficiently to meet production targets in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and quality teams as required Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Panel Wirer or Electrical Fitter Strong ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics Experience wiring control panels in a manufacturing or industrial environment Good knowledge of electrical components and panel layouts Competent in crimping, cable preparation, and panel wiring techniques High attention to detail and quality Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Qualifications Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) Experience with PLC control panels Understanding of electrical standards and regulations (e.g. BS EN / IEC) Click apply now for more information

Role Overview As the Panel Wirer, you will be responsible for building electrical control panels and supporting field wiring activities on equipment. You will work from electrical and mechanical drawings to assemble, wire, test, and prepare panels for delivery, ensuring high-quality workmanship throughout. The role as the Panel Wirer may also involve occasional travel for installation and commissioning support.
