If yes, then we may have the role for you As a Procurement Manager, you will run major strategic procurement projects for the Bank across all categories - IT, Digital, Risk, Banking Operations, Lending Operations, Facilities etc. You will be responsible for the majority of Metro Bank's new procurements and providing commercial direction and review of large existing contracts. As part of your role, you will support the Director of Procurement and Supplier Risk in developing departmental processes, procedures and systems. This job offers the opportunity for hybrid working. So what would you be doing? • Planning major procurement projects • Building and leading diverse matrix teams to deliver to tight schedules • Understanding business needs and developing specifications for best of breed technology and services • Identifying and selecting the best suppliers for the Bank to work with • Negotiating complex deals in a competitive and potentially adversarial environment • Financial modelling of contracts and developing innovative financial deal structures where appropriate • Negotiating contract terms, facing off against suppliers' lawyers; avoiding commercial and risk pitfalls in the contracting process • Embedding a culture of cost management and spend control within the bank • Influencing to exec level; establishing sufficient credibility to represent exec business owners in supplier negotiations You need to be this kind of person • Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers • Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment • Prepared to stick at something - we get nervous if someone has jumped from job to job as we want people who are prepared to learn and grow • Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do And we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be able to do most of these wonderful things • Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders • In order to exceed in this role, you will have significant experience creating and delivering procurement strategies that drive value for money across multiple categories including IT, Operations, Services, Digital, Facilities, HR etc. • We need you to have understanding of business needs and defining requirements for complex services/systems • You need to have experience in all aspects of formal sourcing and RFx • It is key that you have strong knowledge of supplier markets and supplier market research • We need you to have experience in developing contract P&L models over a horizon of up to 10 years, negotiating high-value, complex supply contracts (legal, commercial and technical negotiation) • In order to hit the ground running, you need to have experience in supplier and contract risk assessment, due diligence and monitoring Important Footnote Diverse teams really are the best teams.
