Role Overview: As a Primary TA SEMH, you will provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to implement strategies that foster emotional regulation and positive behaviour. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Implement individualised learning and behaviour plans in collaboration with the SENCO and class teacher. Assist in delivering interventions focused on emotional well-being, social skills and self-regulation. Encourage positive interactions and relationships between pupils and staff. Requirements: A relevant qualification in education, psychology, counselling, or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ, degree in a related field). MUST be a Driver Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a school, alternative provision, or youth work setting. Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and how to adapt learning for children with SEMH challenges. Ability to implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques. A strong understanding of attachment theory, trauma-informed practices and behaviour management strategies. Resilience, patience and a nurturing approach to supporting young learners. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are QTS/ QTLS / Instructor / Tutor / 1:1 delivery experience within KS2 or secondary education phase within a school, PRU, AP or designated provision. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car. This is essential as you will be travelling between locations during the working day and must be able to drive yourself.
