Job Introduction
Within the Branded Services EMEA division at BBC Studios, the Campaign Planner supports in the strategic cross-channel media planning of campaigns and brands.
Responsible for the detailed planning of owned media campaigns across EMEA BBC channels and services (spanning linear and VOD).
Responsible for applying the principles of media planning, marketing and advertising, and using all available audience data to create audience focused campaign plans.
Responsible for the coordination, tracking and evaluation of promotional campaigns across owned BBC inventory.
Reporting to the Media Planning Manager and working in a team of Campaign/Media Planners and closely with Marketing, Creative, Production, Insights and Programming.
Main Responsibilities
Responsible for creating owned media plans across TV and VOD for BBC channels and branded services throughout EMEA.
Responsible for identifying strategic cross promotional opportunities for campaigns.
Collaboration with Marketing across paid media/off-air inventory where appropriate.
Have an awareness and understanding of audience behaviours and cross media inventory audience synergies.
Responsible for converting campaign strategy into clear campaign plans and delivery requirements for EMEA Creative team.
Responsible for implementing these messages by allocating airtime and briefing teams to ensure effective communication of each message.
Liaises with Marketing and Creative to advise on creative marketing content to best suit the media campaign requirements.
Responsible for monitoring campaign performance and predicting future audience levels to enable optimal use of airtime.
Provides post-campaign evaluations and reporting to enhance future campaign activity.
Analyses and applies media research to provide audience focus to whole planning process
Are You The Right Candidate?
At least 2-3 years' experience in media planning working within a broadcasting company, advertising or media agency.
Experience of linear/TV media planning essential, and additional digital/VOD knowledge preferred.
Proven ability to define, co-ordinate and communicate promotional strategy.
Experience of managing interactions with senior managers.
Knowledge of audience trends and ability to analyse data, interpret and apply media research.
Understanding of the commercial broadcast marketplace.
Experience of developing new ways of working and processes.
Experience of analysing and interpreting data.
Knowledge of broadcast/media audience planning and evaluation systems.
PC literate with spreadsheet experience.
An understanding and application of media research and marketing within a broadcast environment.
A good understanding of creative marketing issues.
Interest in and knowledge of broadcast/media content.
Skills
Ability to analyse viewing data, write reports and present insights.
Good time management and able to work to deadlines.
Good numeracy.
Good communication skills, assertive and tactful.
Motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
