Day-to-day, you'll: Work with your colleagues, the Operations Support Supervisor, the Station Manager and the Network Operations Centre (NOC) to ensure capacity across our network Work with the installation and maintenance teams Escalate failures in line with departmental reporting expectations Deputise and cover for the Senior Maintenance and Support Engineer in their absence Create/change written authorised procedures and manuals as directed by the Senior Maintenance and Support Engineer This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights. The successful candidate will be expected to work a flexible schedule, including weekend shifts, as required. This role is full time, working forty-four hours over an eight-day cycle and will be based onsite at Oakhanger. Essential experience of the Maintenance Support Engineer Networking experience Serial Data Coms experience Proficient in working with Microsoft Office software Good awareness of fibre and copper cable management Competent in the setting up, maintenance and fault diagnosis of equipment used in X, S, and Ku band satellite control and baseband data communication systems Qualifications for the Maintenance Support Engineer HNC or above in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or relevant evidence of experience A full UK driving licence Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
