Project Manager IIlocation: Aldermaston, Reading salary: up to £46,200clearance: DV clearance required The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of the company's new business programme. Working closely with the Account Project Lead and the Pipeline Manager the team develops the new business prospect into a proposal, ensuring the service design and governance criteria is met. Finally ensuring a smooth and controlled transition of projects and programmes into BAU service. Plan and deliver projects using waterfall or agile methodologies, as appropriate Control the lifecycle of all changes, enabling beneficial changes to be made with minimum disruption to IT services Manage the IT Service Risks associated with system developments Manage the relationship and coordinate the delivery of new services and releases from project teams into a live environmentWe are looking for someone who has a good working knowledge of Excel and Word, an aptitude for working with numbers and who can work under their own initiative. Recommends changes or alternate paths as appropriate. Possesses strong skills in core project management competencies (planning, risk and financial management, stakeholder management, team leadership). Creates and implements project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives of projects. Prepares detailed statements of work and gains concurrence and approval from stakeholders regarding various project aspects and adjusts accordingly. Participates in delivery assurance reviews to ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures. Assists in the staffing of projects. Organises project team members to ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments and objectives. Participates in work as applicable. Manages costs, schedules and quality by overseeing project deliverables. Ensures schedule and budget are met. May revise as appropriate. Performs ongoing review of project status; identifies possible project risks. Recommends and implements risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate. Works in conjunction with team members and stakeholders to manage changes to technical requirements, business requirements and schedule of the project. Provides input on possible changes needed based on current project status. Manages client, company and project team expectations for agreed upon project performance by obtaining and providing project metrics. Recommends changes or alternate paths based upon performance and metrics. Oversees assigned personnel for projects. Assigns work and provides direction with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives. Addresses performance issues within prescribed guidelines. Provides performance input upon completion of project. Implement a risk-appropriate Service Transition Framework in line with ITIL best principles Implement a Change Management framework in line with ITIL best principles Provide the PMO analyst with regular progress updates to ensure accuracy in the project forecast Manage project financials ensuring visibility of projects costs against revenue Work closely with the BAU Operations Manager to agree support and resources utilised from the BAU service to support project delivery. Where required manage the recruitment of project resources Mentor the teams around best practices in Service TransitionESSENTIALS SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience managing medium to large scale projects end to end Formal certification in recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE 2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes or PMP preferred but not essential Experience working with project management methodology such as Catalyst including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices Experience working with client vision, business objectives, and critical success factors Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures relevant to area Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases Skilled in estimating and common project management desktop tools Strong communication skills Excellent Stakeholder Management, Presentation & Communication Skills Ability to work under pressure Excellent organisational skills, able to take a methodical approachDESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Outsourced service delivery experience A good understanding of IT technical solutions and IT market Proactive attitude to improving service Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - Specifically PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OutlookIf you have the skills required for the role, apply now!"In applying for this position, you consent to your personal data being shared with the specified employer and for your details to remain with GTS for as long as is necessary to process your application.
