What you'll do:

• Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of software engineering professionals to deliver outstanding software solutions for our customers
• Drive the refinement and execution of the vision and strategy for the department to improve quality, agility and value creation
• Lead the continuous evolution of the ways of working and develop an operating model that promotes collaboration, efficiency and speed, using a data driven approach
• Manage the pipeline of work into the department in collaboration with the Portfolio & Delivery Management teams, ensuring that the resourcing within the department are managed effectively
• As a member of the Software Engineering Leadership team, remain aligned with the wider organisational goals and objectives, as well as to promote new ideas and approaches
• Build a pipeline of talent by providing training, mentoring and coaching to your team, whilst ensuring that this is cascaded throughout the department
• Ensure that the department has all the required skills and be accountable for all hiring and performance management

What you'll bring:

• Previous experience in leadership positions in a Software Engineering organisation, ideally in roles spanning various stages of the SDLC
• Excellent technical (systems architecture, data, CI/CD, software development standards) and business (budget management, value identification, resource forecasting) acumen
• Knowledge and understanding of achieving and maintaining agility, as well as the tools and frameworks relating to Agile (Scrum, Kanban, scaling frameworks, XP, etc.)
• Outstanding communicator to all levels - capable of creating a compelling vision and making complex subjects straightforward
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the gravitas to contribute meaningfully and constructively to the leadership team
• Experience of Salesforce capability and implementations (Optional)

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you'll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.
