Your new role The role can be fully home based and sits OUTSIDE IR35. It is initially a 12 month contract that is very likely to extend. You will be joining the growing Data Science & Bioinformatics team, working on projects from early stage R&D through to clinical development, developing new approaches and methods to analyse a wide range of NGS, omics and imaging\/clinical data coming from patients and tumour samples, as well as modelling drug response to therapies. Your new role The role can be fully home based and sits OUTSIDE IR35. It is initially a 12 month contract that is very likely to extend. You will be joining the growing Data Science & Bioinformatics team, working on projects from early stage R&D through to clinical development, developing new approaches and methods to analyse a wide range of NGS, omics and imaging\/clinical data coming from patients and tumour samples, as well as modelling drug response to therapies. This is a hands-on position working closely with biologists, statisticians and clinical researchers and sits at the core of the company's research efforts to further develop the next generation of therapies. Major responsibilities will include: * Utilising a variety of statistical \/ bioinformatics \/ machine learning approaches for analysing large scale NGS and other biological datasets, including multi-omics and imaging data; * Building and optimising models to predict drug responses from patients; * Developing & optimising bioinformatics and\/or machine learning pipelines, tools, models, methods and approaches; * Biomarker \/ target identification & validation; * Project management, including setting timelines and milestones; * Hands-on programming, eg in Python, R or similar; * Liaising with major stakeholders; * Working with molecular biologists and clinical teams to help interpret data and optimise experimental approaches. What you'll need to succeed As well as strong communication, organisational and time management skills, you should have: * An MSc \/ PhD (or equivalent experience) in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, data science, biology or a related subject; * Hands-on experience with the analysis and interpretation of large scale NGS data sets (ideally from clinical samples); * Experience using a variety of Machine Learning and\/or Deep Learning approaches to analyse biological or drug discovery\/development data' * A track record of working with large scale genomic (eg sequencing \/ NGS, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, methylation) or other clinical data, such as medical imaging; * Strong programming\/scripting skills in a language such as R, Python, Perl or similar; and * A drive for creative problem-solving.
