The City & Capital Group are delighted to be representing a highly successful and fast growing commercial property finance lender who have retained our services in order to identify and appoint a confident and ambitious Underwriter to their growing team. Our client offers a range of solutions to property investors and developers to cover both term debt (BTL) and short term property loans (bridging finance). This includes big ticket loans of £40m+ as well more standard loan sizes from £500k to assist key clients with their requirements. They also have exciting plans for additional product launches over the next 12 months and are expecting to double the size of their business and loan book during this period. Our clients product proposition can be complex and the requirement of the incoming Underwriter will be to assess cases commercially and to recommend credit/risk based decisions from their findings. As a result they are keen to identify an individual who can demonstrate a previous track record of success in terms of property finance underwriting. This will be someone who is keen to engage with the lenders internal development plan to offer promotions to Senior Underwriter once excellent performance is delivered. Within the role you will work closely with the businesses BDM's to support their originated deals from a credit management perspective. You will manage and maintain a pipeline of activity to ensure loans are assessed and actioned in line with SLA's. This may include joining credit committee meetings and actively influencing sanctioning decisions to the highest level. In addition you will be a key point of contact for brokers and direct borrowers to assist with queries and to support the funding cycle. You will utilise these relationships at times as a 'first point of contact' and where relevant will onboard applications directly from this channel. You will report in to the businesses Underwriting Manager and will be ably assisted from within the department too. The structure means you will have support from an experienced and hard working team of Junior Underwriters, Case Managers and Administrators who will assist you with the collation of key data, reports and assessment to undertake your complex assessments.
