Carry out preparation/repair/application of finishing products as necessary. Carry out maintenance, repair, and installation work. Execute workmanship using own initiative, to a high standard and ensure it is carried out in strict compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and any other relevant legislation covering safety in the workplace for self and others. Keep your Line Manager aware of progress and problems in a timely manner. Carry out planned maintenance tasks of plant and equipment following training. Maintain and repair the fabric of the buildings, including redecoration, plumbing, some basic electrical work. Install, move, and modify office furniture as required and to assist in the installation and modification of service. Small Plastering knowledge but not essential Proven practical skills in areas such as carpentry, decorating and plumbing. The ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of hand and power tools and other maintenance and safety equipment. Requirements of Maintenance Assistant Given the nature of this role it is important that you have some experience in building maintenance. Whether you are a painter & decorator, a plumber, a joiner, an electrician, or even just all-round handy person, we would like to hear from you. You should have exceptional customer service skills, be a clear communicator and be able to demonstrate great teamwork. Experience in a similar role is desirable but site-specific training will be given. The role is very hands on, so a can do, and proactive approach is essential and forms part of our One Team ethos.
