We work alongside our client schools to provide successful Trainee Teaching Assistants with high quality training and paid on the job experience. This programme is aimed towards candidates who do not necessarily have experience of working with children or a childcare/teaching assistant qualification but who are eager to get into the classroom. About the Programme: Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a school to further develop your skills. We will help you to develop your identity as an educator and help you to choose your specialist area from EYFS, KS1, KS2 to secondary school and SEND provision. Prior to starting your placement, you will be required to complete a comprehensive training programme delivered by Vision for Education and school leaders, which will give you the essential skills you need to work as a Teaching Assistant. Teaching Assistants are instrumental in ensuring the sooth running of any school. The most effective Teaching Assistants have excellent communication skills and have an interest and passion in supporting the day-today needs of all children. They are also able to build relationships with both staff, children and their families. The role of a teaching assistant varies from each school. You may be working to support the teacher during whole class teaching, running small group interventions to support children or working on a 1:1 basis to ensure the needs of all children are meet and that they can thrive. The ward Prichard is a bespoke 15-bed ward for working age adult males. Patients are admitted who have a diagnosis of either mental illness, emerging personality disorder or co-morbid conditions, who may pose a significant risk of harming themselves or others. The ward uses the Good Lives model and Dialect Behaviour Therapy to address underlying causes of trauma and offending behaviour and to provide strategies to support patients in coping in daily lives. The ward is situated in the modern facility of William Wake House, which is supported by an onsite MDT team. The Role Working within our Medium Secure Service, you will be the Responsible Clinician in our specialist medium service. This is a male medium secure ward that will provide care and treatment for working age males with mental illnesses. This is a new ward that will form part of an established and successful medium secure male service. You will work closely with the other male wards and clinical teams to ensure the pathways between the wards/services are maximised and meet patients' needs as they progress through treatment and recovery. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and oversee the management of patients with often complex needs. Which is completely free The programme involves online training with modules such as; Safeguarding, Introduction to being a teaching assistant, Behaviour management and working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). After completing your online training modules, you will then do a 5-day paid placement in schools within your area. Once all your training and placement has been complete you will be a qualified teaching assistant and be able to work in schools using your newly gained skills and knowledge!
