What you'll do The My Sky App Family is at the heart of providing outstanding customer service through both the iOS and Android apps which touch every part of a Sky customer's experience. Work with the Principal Engineer to drive the technical direction and the improvement of tools and processes across teams Champion testing, code quality, accessibility, and standard methodologies as well as mentoring individuals Facilitate and support with the technical analysis, solution design and integration-based phases of delivery Coach and mentor Senior Developers and Developers, helping them to thrive in their career Play a proactive role with regards to the setup and ongoing maintenance of effective monitoring and alerting across the app Drive continuous improvement within a self-regulating team Assist in creating high quality software using Agile methodologies Work with colleagues from other platforms such as iOS and Android Support with the recruitment process - identifying skills gaps and playing an active role towards the recruitment of excellent candidates into technical roles What you'll bring Strong experience with React Native and TypeScript Technical leadership / mentoring experience Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide written & verbal updates tailored to your audience A passion for driving the quality, performance and resilience of the app technology Depth in knowledge of software engineering standard methodology and non functional requirements Experience with producing ADRs, evaluating technologies and an aim to push the team with regards to technical documentation and knowledge sharing Strong problem solving and analytical abilities Knowledge and experience of a wide range of Agile methodologies and best practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc UK&I Technology Ground-breaking projects.
