Job Description

CAD Assistant: join a growing Product Development Team for a Client who design and produce bespoke architectural hardware and electrical products. You will have a strong foundation in CAD drawing and have experience of designing parts for CNC Machining with a keen eye for intricate technical detail.

Reporting into the Product Development Lead you will be:

  • Drawing new products in CAD (Autodesk Inventor currently used)
  • Following the NPD process, bringing the products to market through the development of prototypes and testing.
  • Maintaining the product and component drawing database using file-management software
  • Designing and engineering bespoke products for prestigious architect / interior design customers at a rate of around 10 per week (often working from basic sketches)
  • Providing Sales costing / estimates for manufacture for bespoke design products
  • Maintaining the bills of materials for the product range on the ERP system
  • Maintaining and developing the product coding structure
  • Ensuring relevant products are tested (including fire testing) to relevant standard

CAD & Product Development Assistant Package:

  • Basic 25k-35k per annum doe
  • Onsite parking (based in the Purley area, just outside of Croydon)
  • Free Lunch
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus Christmas shut down (typically 2- 3 days)

Monday to Friday: 7.30am-16.30 or 8:00am-17:00

Essential Experience:

  • Be experienced in AutoCAD
  • Excellent knowledge and experience designing parts for CNC machining
  • Experience managing a high volume of CAD files using file-management software
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining BOM’s in ERP system
  • Experience designing, prototyping, testing and reviewing different parts / products
  • Be a real team player, this role collaborates closely with Sales and Purchasing
  • World-class attention to detail, in both design and data entry
  • Ideas driven and naturally use own initiative
