Established for over 25 years, my client specialises in high end residential contracts, together with building projects for our sister property development company in London. The salary for this role will be £26k and will be a full time permanent role.
We are looking for a general handyman to work within our After Sales Section that provides planned maintenance for our own developments and private clients, together with carrying out smaller works. You will have experience of a similar role, possess good all round skills and come from a trade background, preferably carpentry.
As you will be working primarily on your own in our client’s houses you must be extremely trustworthy and of smart appearance.
You will have good interpersonal and written skills together with the ability to problem solve. You will need to be self reliant, be able to manage your time effectively and be able to oversee others as necessary ensuring their work is completed to the required standard
The key responsibilities are:
Annual maintenance of gutters, manholes, drain runs, gulleys and hopper heads.
General property maintenance to include the following:
Small decorating works
Small plastering repairs
Small carpentry works
Easing locks etc
Identifying boiler and mechanical issues
Jet washing external areas
General repairs including making good external cracks
Small tiling works
Clearing rubbish form site as a result of the works
Collecting materials if required
You maybe required to carry out ad hoc duties on our main contracts.
You will be entrusted with holding client’s keys and will be asked to give access to sub contractors, making sure the property is correctly locked up once they have completed their works, reporting back any problems for further action. As you will be working in clients home you will need to provide references.
You will be given a company van so a clean driving licence is essential. Use of the company vehicle to and from work, providing you have safe parking. You will be given a smart phone acting as a PDA to receive assignments and for reporting back to the office- training will be provided. These are strictly for business use only and will be your responsibility to look after in accordance with company policy.
You will be expected to have your own hand tools including small power tools (110v)
