Job Description

Estimator – Bury St Edmunds – Civil Engineering Sub-cntractor 

CLIENT

My client have quickly become renowned for their quality of delivery of civil engineering based projects. And have steadily grown to a turnover of in excess of £10m. They work on a mixture of ground work and highway maintenance projects from East Anglia up to Lincolnshire across to Cambridgesghire, in excess of £2m. They have approximately 100 staff, 25 of which are situated in the office. 

The job entails Liaising with prospective clients, carry out site inspections and compile appropriate information to complete the tender exercise and you will be reporting to one of the Directors. Also: 

  • Programming and Planning of jobs.
  • Provide tender submissions within framework agreement contract environments,
  • utilising existing costing information and using agreed documentation formats including participation in value-engineering exercises.
  • Assess and analyse tender documentation and identify all relevant construction and commercial implications.

 

Key still requirements would be: –

  • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering and construction processes
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to effectively present information
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of estimating software
