Job Description

Progress Teachers are working in partnership with a number of mainstream primary schools in Nottingham to recruit a dedicated Infant / Nursery Practitioners to support children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

This is a rewarding opportunity for those who are passionate about supporting young children s development, learning, and wellbeing during the crucial early stages of education. The successful candidates will help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, and academically through play-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and development of children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging, play-based activities that promote development across all areas of learning
  • Create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where children feel secure and supported
  • Encourage children s social development, communication skills, and independence
  • Observe, monitor, and record children s progress in line with EYFS frameworks
  • Support daily routines including mealtimes, playtime, and transitions between activities
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene routines where required
  • Work collaboratively with nursery staff, teachers, and parents to support each child s development
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and early years policies at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, early years, or childcare setting
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or Supporting Teaching & Learning essential.
  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach when working with young children
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
