New minister appointed for HS2

Andrew Stephenson(Lancashire MP) has been appointed as the new Minister for the HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail. The new minister Andrew Stephenson will be personally monitoring the HS2, and he will have accountability for HS2. Stephenson has stated that “delighted to be given responsibility for HS2, essential we keep a firm grip on these vital projects”. Before taking the Department of transport responsibility he worked as a government whip in the foreign office.

Graduate vacancies will rise by 12% in 2015, the Association of Graduate Recruiters' (AGR) Winter Survey has predicted28/01/2015

According to AGR, this year's job market will enjoy its biggest increase since 2007 thanks to employers' confidence in the UK economy. The highest growth sectors will be IT and telecoms (27%), the public sector (23%), construction (22%) and engineering (20%).

New construction orders rise for first time in 19 months. A new survey shows that the decline in the construction industry may finally be slowing. This is according to the Ulster Bank Purchasing Managers Index, which examines the state of the sector every month.
