Commercial Manager/Director – High End Commercial and Residential Project Experience – Surrey

My client is an established specialist building contractor, based in Surrey, working across a number of market sectors including private residential, commercial residential and leisure. The company also operates a specialist contracting division, aimed at providing interior fit out services to the commercial sector.

The company prides itself on its proven track record, unrivalled work ethic and attention to detail. Working with some of the UK’s leading architects, interior designers and main contractors, my client understands the need to work to tight build schedules and budgets.

With a clear focus on quality and specification, Company carefully selects all materials to ensure their suitability, practicality and durability. Projects are also sympathetically completed to maintain architectural intent to ensure client expectations are exceeded.

Their team of project managers ensures that every scheme is delivered on time and on budget. In-house design services are provided as part of a complete integrated solution, to complement client requirements.

They are currently seeking to appoint a Commercial Manager/Director who will be based near their office in West Byfleet but required to carry out regular site visits for projects ranging in size from £1M – £5M (Mainly between £1M-£2M Projects). Excellent remuneration/benefits package dependant on experience for the right candidate with potential to advance within the company and be rewarded with an excellent bonus structure.

Dealing with customer requests for quotations and invitations to tender
Obtaining quotations from suppliers for tender purposes
Producing tenders from BoQ;s, and specification/drawings
Preparing contract and tender documentation
Completing risk and value management as well as cost control
Check/manage company purchase orders to suppliers and negotiate prices and contract terms with suppliers.
Compiling and issuing valuations to clients
Verifying and approving sub-contractor valuations for payment
Assisting with the running of the office and prioritising and sharing out the workload
Work closely with/monitor/mentor/assist our trainee quantity surveyors.
Develop strong relationships with existing clients and bring new business on board
Carry out additional tasks as requested by the Managing Director.

Key Requirements

Experience working on high end commercial refurb projects
Refurb and fit out experience
Experience working on projects up to £5m
Be familiar with JCT & NEC contracts
Astute commercial mind
