Senior Qualification Engineer

Would you like to work in a varied role within a rapidly growing area of BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Qualification Engineer at our site in Rochester.

As a Senior Qualification Engineer, you will be working within the Qualification department in the engineering design-proving phase of many exciting innovative programmes. This is part of the Faraday Test Centre based at BAE Systems Rochester, which is a UKAS accredited Environmental and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) facility. You will have the opportunity to be part of a fully equipped 'one-stop' qualification department with a large and varied customer base.

This role will offer excellent opportunities for career progression. You will also have the chance to work with a diverse and extensive range of products, including those created for military as well as commercial purposes.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Qualification Engineer will involve:

Setting up and performing EMC and environmental tests to military and commercial testing standards

Keeping accurate test logs

Writing technical test reports

Compiling test plans and procedures

Ensuring products comply with military and commercial test standards

Budget and schedule reporting and responsibility across a number of programmes

Supervising junior team members

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Qualification Engineer:

Essential:

Previously served apprenticeship/ Degree/ HNC/ HND in electronic engineering or equivalent qualification or experience

Engineering background in electronic testing/ EMC testing/ hardware engineer

Desirable:

Experience of working in an EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) or Environmental test laboratory

You will be an adaptable individual with flexibility towards your working hours, particularly when deadlines are approaching. You will be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also possess strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in your work.

Location: Rochester

Salary: £33,000+
