Background:   IT is a critical enabler to the business and one of the largest areas ofexpenditure. A robust, secure and leading edge IT architecture isessential for Aviva to become a super-accelerator.  The Portfolio Planning, Risk and Governance team support the governanceof the Global CIO function, which is comprised of 4500 people, deployedacross Run and Change. The Change portfolio consists of circa. 200programmes and 350m spend (in 2017). Timely MI, robust governance,resource management and embedded risk management is key to support cleardecision making to ensure Global CIO is successful.   Role purpose:   Global IT has a significant year-on-year Change Portfolio ofInitiatives, as part of a rolling 3-year Strategic Roadmap. The purposeof this role is to support and challenge CIO areas to ensure that thecombination of the IT-initiated Change Portfolio and the IT elements ofMarket Change Portfolios are do-able and affordable and that theysustain Aviva's current operation as well as enabling future ambitions, globally.   Key aspects of the role:   Part of a small frontline 'centre of excellence' providing support andchallenge to CIO areas for:  Group CIO Roadmap construction. Submission and approval of Business Cases. Benefits tracking at Portfolio level - financial and non-financial. Portfolio prioritisation for all IT activity. Maintaining the Portfolio governance framework, and providing training and guidance in its use.  Problem Solving and Change:  Analysis-based operational problem solving to optimise the running of the Portfolio Planning and Delivery Assurance processes, and to inform and drive the continuous improvement of them.  Internal Collaboration:  Day to day engagement with a range of local stakeholders involved in all aspects of Portfolio Planning and Delivery - with a focus on driving flawless delivery execution e.g. through Steering Group and Route to Green reviews. Scale, complexity and stakeholders will determine exactly which activities are assigned to which people.   Role Objectives:   An operational and maintained Global CIO Roadmap. Acknowledged effective Portfolio governance - for Business Case approval and Delivery tracking. A single view of prioritised IT Change activity. General stakeholder endorsement.   Experience / Skills Required:   Strong analytical skills Excellent communicator. Persuasive and articulate, able to influence and negotiate at senior level. Ability to quickly and effectively work with other teams. Facilitation skills. Relationship management skills. Change management. Dependency management. Financial management. Proven track record in successfully operating Portfolio-wide governance. Track-record of successfully operating along-side a range of stakeholders.
